General Advice
- You can create a logo that suits exactly your needs by using the
lsslogo.sh script. All you need is a
bash shell
(and the netpbm tools if you
want to create the bitmap formats).
- Use one of the vector formats (EPS or PDF) whenever possible, since
they can be scaled without any quality loss.
- Try to avoid scaling the bitmap formats (PNG or GIF).
- If you have to scale a bitmap format, choose the biggest version and
scale it down to the required size.
- Prefer PNG to GIF.
- If you need transparency you have to use GIF, because
some browsers still do not support transparent PNG.
- Choose the appropriate transparent GIF depending on the brightness of
the background.

These graphics can be scaled without any quality loss.
Save the links, not the images themselves!
