Erlangen High-End-Computing Symposia
Erlangen High-End-Computing Symposia
Purpose
Leading edge research relies more and more on High-End-Computing. Computer
simulation increasingly replaces dangerous or expensive experiments; complex
theoretical models in the sciences often become useful only when performed
by numerical computation. The computer aided optimization of processes and
technical systems is the key to design and develop competetive products in
the global market place.
The Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg has already reacted
to the central importance of High-End-Computing as a core enabling
technology by its participation in research networks, such as FORTWIHR or
KONWIHR and the new elite study programs, such as the Bavarian Graduate
School in Computational Engineering.
This symposia present a review of High-End-Computing from an
international perspective and highlight current and future
developments. They are jointly organized by

Lehrstuhl für Systemsimulation

Regionales Rechenzentrum Erlangen

Bavarian Graduate School in Computational Engineering
International Doctorate Program
