Lattice Boltzmann method: Comparison of several approaches for mixtures modeling

Background:
In both natural and industrial processes there are several situation where
diffusion plays an important role. Therefore a lot of effort has been invested
into the development of models for fluid mixtures in the LBM, which are based on
the kinetic theory.
The aim of this thesis is the comparison and implementation of three of
these models for mixture modeling in 2D for the lattice Boltzmann method.
Tasks:
- Implementation of three fluid mixture models
- Comparison of performance, memory consumption and accuracy
- Simulation of various test cases
- Visualization of the results
Useful knowledge:
- Basic understanding of the LBM
- Interest in the kinematic theory
- C++ programming
